The Caldwell County, Missouri Historical Society was established in 1980 with the purpose to preserve material, documents and historical information about County history and the genealogies of County people and from the earliest settlers to the present.

Overall goals and objectives include: to record historical events, preserve family histories from records, interviews and photographs, and to collect and organize artifacts and memorabilia relating to county history.

Kingston, Missouri is the home of the Historical Society, where it maintains a Welcome Center and a History Museum.

The Welcome Center is located at 89 W. Main St. in Kingston, and houses a collection of records and documents that includes: family histories, Caldwell County cemetery records, and compiled obituaries from newspapers and obituary records. All material housed at the Welcome Center is available for viewing and research.

The History Museum is next door to the Welcome Center, housed in a historical building, and contains memorabilia and artifacts collected from across the county.

Current and ongoing projects include: locating, documenting and updating Caldwell County Missouri cemetery records and publications; records preservation and publication. Historical Society Publications are listed here. 

The Historical Society meets monthly, on the third Monday of each month at the Welcome Center, in Kingston, at 6 p.m., with the exception of December and January.
